The extra tooth and abscessed baby tooth are shown in Fig.2S and 2F, respectively, after extraction. C: crown, R: root; arrowheads point to crown/root junction. The root tip of the baby tooth (on the top of Fig.2F) is pretty rough, partially due to normal root resorption and partially due to abscess. By contrast, the root tip of the extra tooth (on the bottom of Fig.2S) is wide open, like the blowing horn. The root is still developing, because the extra tooth is an abnormal adult tooth.
