Implants Work Well For A Family
Implant is the best way to replace a missing tooth. Most of people do not like it, because it requires surgery. In fact, it is the least invasive of all of dental surgeries. When it works for a family member, everyone else in the family witness its effect and will accept this treatment modality easily if necessary. For various reasons, three members of Zhan's family have bad teeth and need implants. The father has lost two of front teeth. He is the bravest in his family and accept the treatment first. He is happy with the result (Fig.2 (C: implant crown)).
The mother has gum disease; a lower back tooth is mobile and painful (Fig.3: #19). She has to have it removed and an immediate implant (Fig.4 I) and immediate abutment (A) and immediate temporary crown. In a few months she gets a permanent crown. The mother is pleased with the implant, because she does not have pain anymore.
The 17-year-old son has a special dental abnormality. A top permanent tooth is missing by birth. The corresponding baby tooth, which is supposed to fall out at the age of 12, is displaced (Fig.5: B). He cannot eat properly. Encouraged by his parents, he has also an immediate implant, abutment and temporary crown (Fig.6).
