One-Sided Chewing
A 60-year-old-or-so man has two top missing molars (Fig.1 *). He can chew only on the other side, including a bottom molar tooth, labeled as #, which looks ok. In 4 years, the molar finally breaks down (root fracture, Fig.2 ^), causing surrounding bone infection. If the top missing molars had been restored with implants earlier, the bottom molar would have been alright now.
