Fig.9: eight months post bracketing, i.e., four months after using closed coil springs to retract the canines (#6,11) distal.  In fact, by this time the canines have contacted the 2nd premolars.

A posted wire is placed distal to lateral incisors. Two closed coil springs are used to retract these four incisors (in one unit) distal.

There is space for the distalization to happen (*).
