Fig.1: immediately after banding and bracketing (.014" niti wires).  The upper deciduous canine retains (C), while the upper permanent canine is impacted (3).

Note roller coaster wires.  Once they become straight, the upper anterior teeth should descend to establish normal overbite. 

When the space for the permanent canine is created, the normal overjet should be setup.
