Cheek Bite
A 48-year-old woman requests extraction of 4 of the 3rd molars because of cheek bite, especially the left (Fig.1). The lower molars are buccal in position, while the upper one buccoversion. Following extraction, no split is emphasized to prevent dry socket. Elevator is placed freely mesiobuccal to the 3rd molar for breakdown of pdl since there is ample bone between it and the 2nd molar, in contrast to the other case.
