Internal Oblique Ridge
A 20-year-old woman requests extraction of the lower left 3rd molar (Fig.1). In fact the tooth being buccal to the 2nd molar is ignored preop (Fig.1,2 red arrow). The vertical incision is placed too distal with subsequent elevation of the mesial flap. From now on every panoramic X-ray should be viewed with magnification before surgery! After extraction, one piece of Osteogen Plug is placed; the anterior end of the Internal Oblique Ridge (Fig.2 I) is located in the posterior of the socket. As the socket heals, the anterior end of the ridge is expected to advance.
