Small Implant Can Do Big Task

A 72-year-old man (ZH) presented for new patient examination 2 months ago; the tooth needs a crown (Fig.1,2).  Twenty days later, the lingual (L in Fig.1,2) cusp fractures subgingival (Fig.3 *).  It appears that implant is the best option, although the patient insists on crown.  The socket is to be treated with Clindamycin.   A 4.5x10 mm implant is most likely to be placed within the septum (Fig.4).   The 3 sockets (at least the bottom half) will be packed with collagen plug unless implant threads are exposed.
