A fair amount of bone graft is placed in the peri-implant gap (Fig.8 *). Emdogain is applied to the roots of the neighboring teeth prior to bone grafting. It is hoped that new bone forms over the coronal implant threads and the root surfaces of the adjoining teeth.
By 5.5 months postop, there has been apparently bone growth in the mesial gap (Fig.13 arrowheads).
