Probably Single Socket
The tooth #15 of a 62-year-old man (CY) has been fractured for 4 years (Fig.1). The 3 roots (MB, DB and P) appear to be approximated each other (Fig.1,3,4) so that when the tooth is extracted (using a surgical handpiece for sectioning), the socket should be single and large. Treat the socket with Clindamycin. If the socket proves to be flat on the top, the thickness of the sinus floor is approximately 2 mm. If the bone is not so tough, use osteotomes to do sinus lift; otherwise use drills. The depth of osteotomy should be tightly monitored.
PA shows that the depth of the osteotomy is approximately 17 mm (Fig.2), whereas CT 14 mm (Fig.3,4). Intraop measurement will determine the depth.
