A 52-year-old woman presents to clinic with chief complaint "I can not bite in the upper right". Exam shows DO caries of the tooth #2 (Fig.1).  Since the roots of the teeth #1 and 2 are close to each other, the tooth #2 becomes loose after the tooth #1 extraction.  A long implant is indicated if the tooth #2 turns out to be non-salvageable after root canal therapy (18 mm bone-level, Fig.8).
