Not Enough Space for Ball Abutment
After initial osteotomy at the site of #6 with a 2 mm pilot drill at 11 mm, a parallel pin is inserted (Fig.1). It appears close to the neighboring root (dashed line), although it does not look so close clinically. When the parallel pin is removed (Fig.2 black area), the osteotomy is moved distally (red area) with a Lindamann bur. Then the osteotomy is deepened and enlarged (Fig.3 green area). When a 4x17 mm tissue-level implant is placed (Fig.4 I), a ball abutment (A) is inserted without enough clearance. The clearance with a ball abutment at the site of #3 is also not sufficient. It appears that crowns have to be fabricated prior to fabrication of the upper removable partial denture.
