Why to Use Extra Wide UF implant?

A 78-year-old lady (YT) has had poor dentition.  The tooth #2 fractured 3 years ago (Fig.1).  Now bone loss around the abutments for the bridge at #3-5 is more severe (Fig.2).  There is an abscess palatal to the tooth #5.  After extraction, the socket at #3 should be large (treated with 2% Xylocaine/1:50,000 Epinephrine).  An extra wide implant is expected.  Since there is more than 12 mm of bone in height (Fig.3), a UF implant is the most appropriate (6, 6.5 or 7x12 mm, Fig.4).  The longest extra wide SM implant is 10 mm.

Fig.5 was taken 8 months post #2 ext.  In fact the upper left bridge lost 4 months ago.
