The abutment is modified (Fig.14) to accommodate an immediate provisional. Bone graft (*) is placed in the buccal and lingual gaps and overextended coronally (in hope that it may regenerate both the hard and soft tissue).
A keratinized band forms buccal to the implant 5 months postop (Fig.19 *), suggesting the presence of regenerated hard tissue underneath.
