Use Neighboring Roots as Reference for Osteotomy Depth

A 46-year-old lady has multiple restoration (Fig.1).  The #18-20 bridge has been dislodged.  Since local oral hygiene is excellent while it is out, it is not recemented.  But it will be used as an immediate provisional bridge when an implant is placed at #19.  DO caries of #18 has been taken care of (*).  The roots of the neighboring teeth are long.  As long as the osteotomy does not exceed the length of the roots, there will be low possiblity of violation of the Inferior Alveolar Canal (red dashed line: its superior border).  The initial depth will be 10 mm using UF 2 mm pilot drill.
