A 8x14 mm immediate implant (I) is placed at the site of #19 (Fig.5). The lamina dura (Fig.5 >) disappears 3.5 months postop (Fig.8); instead the bone appears to have grown into implant threads (Fig.8 >). It appears that the distal crestal bone continues to be resorbed slowly 4 months post cementation (Fig.9 *, as compared to Fig.5,8), although there is no gingival erythema. The patient complains of tight contact between #18 and 19. The resorption may be less with a smaller implant.
