The lower right 2nd molar of a 50-year-old lady is non-salvageable (Fig.1). The mesial residual root has mobility II. Extraction should not be too difficult using proximators (Karl Schumacher) and a Rongeur. The gingival tissue between the mesial and distal roots will be saved and most likely pushed distally.
