Ridge Split with Wheel Saw and Bone Expanders
A 47-year-old woman has had 3 bridges. One of them (the lower right) is broken down. The patient requests removing the tooth #31 (Fig.1 CBCT), because of difficulty in keeping it clean. Since the buccal plate is thin (Fig.2 (axial section), 3 (coronal section) >) or absent (Fig.2 *), a 5 mm implant will be placed lingually (Clindamycin).
The narrow ridge at #30 will be split with wheel saw; osteotomy will be finished using bone expanders (Fig.4).
