Biopsy Punch

Biopsy punch is used after guide tissue punch marking at #15 because of expected low stability associated with a 8.5 mm long implant for the 73-year-old woman (Fig.1).  For #18 site, the same punch is reused with reduced sharpness and some trauma to the tissue.  After implant placement (Fig.2), the osteotomy appears to invade the buccal nonkeratinized gingiva.  The saved tissue returns to the sites with perio glue fixation and perio dressing.  The dressing at #18 is loose 2 weeks postop.  When it is removed, the wound seems to be healing (Fig.3).  The dressing at #15 remains stable 2 weeks postop (not removed).
