Augma Post Implant Removal I
A 66-year-old man returns with chief complaint of chewing pain lower left. There is severe bone loss around the implant at #19 (Fig.1,2). Section the crown, remove the 6 mm abutment (no cement) and 7 mm implant. After debridement and copious irrigation, place Augma, press, place Collagen plug and 4-0 PGA. Take PA and place acrylic or periodontal dressing if needed. Is the defect too large for 1 cc Bond Apatite? Place allograft in the bottom of the defect before Bond Apatite?
Hi Dr. Xin
This case is not a case to
start with, since it has also some vertical component.
The most
important here is the stability and the compaction of the graft .
I do recommend to start with more simple cases until passing the short learning
curve.
Keep me posted
