Temporary Abutment for Large Soft Tissue

A 39-year-old woman has severe toothache associated with #30 subgingival caries (Fig.1 * distolingual). To reduce buccal plate perforation, a 4.5x11.5 mm implant will be placed (Fig.2 (bone height 15 mm). Take PA after parallel pin to make sure that blood supply to the tooth #29 is not compromised. For easy impression later, a temporary abutment will be used for immediate provisional so that a large soft tissue hemisphere is created. A cementation abutment is estimated to be 6.5x4(3) mm. Schedule SRP after implant placement (Fig.1). In fact the patient declines implant placement and accepts socket preservation (Fig.3 (*: Vanilla Graft)) because of history of hemorrhage associated with #19 extraction (Fig.4).
