A 56-year-old man has complicated infection in the lower right posterior region (Fig.1). It appears that all of the molars need extraction. The tooth #31 has endo perio disease complicated with #32 impaction, while the tooth #30 has furcal infection (no pain). Since the tooth #31 has 2 approximated roots, extraction most likely leads to a single socket. Use of Rongeur or surgical handpiece to remove the remaining thin septum.
