Osteotomy Depth First I
PA is taken after a 2.2 mm drill reaches depth of 11.5 mm with 10.5 mm offset at #29 to confirm that the curved apex of the neighboring tooth is not violated (Fig1 * (red line: Mental Loop)). The rest of the procedure is smooth except that the abutment at #29 is later changed to 4.5x4(4) mm (Fig.2,3 (red dashed line: Mental Loop)). The latter is easier for immediate splinted provisional and also has clearance from the crestal bone (Fig.5 *). Bone resorption seems to be minimal 4 months postop (Fig.4). The change in the abutment in cuff length (from 5.7x4.5(3) to (4) mm) at #30 eliminates the gag between the implant and abutment (Fig.4 <, as compared to Fig.5) before impression.
