Anesthesia for Hemostasis
Infiltration anesthesia for guided surgery of delayed implant is effective. For a single or 2 nearby implants, one carpule is sufficient (Fig.1). More importantly hemostasis is achieved with the anesthetic injected into the crest earlier (Fig.2). Hemostasis allows the surgeon to determine easily whether tissue punch has done its job (Fig.3), even with the guide in place. With a nonstop fixture mount at #30 (Fig.1), a 4.5x11.5 mm implant is precisely placed at #29 (Fig.4). In fact this patient is nervous. More anesthetics have to be added intraop with the guide removed.
