Salvation Implants
A 65-year-old woman will return to clinic with chief complaint of "loose top left implant bridge" 2.5 years post cementation. It appears that the implant at #9 is placed into the incisive canal (Fig.1 *) with coronal implant thread exposure (>). If it is true that the problem is #9. The denture tooth #8 will be removed so that the upper partial denture will be used a guide. One-piece implants will be placed at #8 and 10. The implant at #9 will be removed for bone graft as a future implant site, since the implant at #10 is 2 mm in diameter, vulnerable to fracture under mastication. If her vein is thin for PRF, consider using GEM21S to hydrate cortical bone. In fact the implant at #9 fractures at the junction of bone loss (Fig.4,5 ^). Full-mouth CT will be taken. Alginate impression will be taken for #8-10 surgical stent and provisional. Remove #8 denture tooth for implant placement with incision. Section the FPD between #10 and 11 for #10 implant placement using #9 broken implant as a guide when PA is taken. Remove the fractured implant and make a provisional.
