Avoid Damage to Neighboring Root

A 55-year-old woman had a #1-3 FPD, which dislodged with sensitivity due to caries at #1(Fig.1 *).  After extraction of #1 (Fig.2), push the gingiva (red dashed line) at the edentulous ridge mesial (arrow).  Pay attention to the distobuccal (DB) root of the tooth #3, which appears to protrude into the edentulous area.  After initial osteotomy for 13 mm (gingival level), take PA.
