Arrow (-->): the upper border of the inferior alveolar nerve (IAN) canal; arrowhead (<): radiolucency appears to be superior extension of the IAN. This may account for why a longer implant is placed clinically (6x14 mm). The superior extension may not be noticeable in 2 D image.
