Fig.2 (illustration)shows the horizontal bite block of a regular posterior PA device (yellow rectangle) rests on the occlusal surface of the posterior teeth to be taken radigraphically.  The tooth #30 (lower right 1st molar) has severe buccal gingival recession.  The tooth will be extracted and an implant is planned to be placed.
