Mini-implants for Molar Intrusion
Two mini-implants were placed for #14 intrusion (Fig.1 (mirror image),2): buccal between #14 and 15 and palatal between 13 and 14. Brackets and bands were placed 14 days later.
Seven months later, the intrusion of tooth #14 appears to be achieved (Fig.3 mirror image). Seventeen months after mini-implant placement, the tooth #15 is relatively supraerupted as compared to #14 (Fig.4 mirror image). To tackle the new issue, a new mini is placed distopalatal to #15 (black <). Composite build up is placed (*) to hold power chain in place to avoid soft tissue damage (white <).
