Supernumerary Premolar

A 20-year-old man returns to clinic for periodic exam.  A panoramic X-ray film was taken ~ 2 years earlier (Fig.1).  What should be done with the supernumerary premolar?  With further development of the root of the extra tooth, root resorption of the neighboring teeth may occur. In fact, there is no root resorption of the neighboring teeth post extraction (Fig.2).
