The stent helps treatment planning: placing 6x11 mm gingiva-level tapered implant in the most ideal restorative position (2nd molar). The implant will be placed ~ 1 mm into the sinus. The mesiodistal width of the future crown is approximately 9 mm.  The center of the implant is 4.5 mm from the distal surface of the 1st molar.  If the initial osteotome is 2 mm in diameter, a spacer with 3.5 mm should be placed against the distal surface of the 1st molar and the osteotome should be placed against the other side of the spacer.  In this way, the implant will be not placed either too mesial or distal.
