Extraction Before Banding

Selina has Class I malocclusion with convex profile.  It appears that extraction of 4 bicuspids is necessary, since the upper arch is pointed.  The upper left 2nd bicuspid is severely buccally displaced (Fig.1).  It may be difficult to place the most flexible niti wire between UL5 and 6.  She will have summer vacation in China.  Before leaving, extraction will be done (Fig2).  When she returns, UL5 should be self corrected (Fig.3 horizontal arrow).  Wire placement will be easier  With possible mesial drifting of the 2nd bi and 1st molars (upward arrow), banding will be also easier.  UR3 may be distalized and de-rotated (curved arrow).  Take impression prior to placement of separators to confirm these potential changes.
