Steps to Correct Class II Division
I Malocclusion
The 1st step to correct severe Class II Division I malocclusion (Fig1) is extraction of 4 of the 1st bicuspids (Fig.2 X). Following placement of 16x16 wires, start Class II retraction (Fig.3 red line) as well as distalization of U3 (Fig.4). When canine Class I relation is established (Fig.5 horizontal arrow (using power chain between L3/5)), arch wire sequence should be able to intrude the incisors (vertical arrows). Finally the lower 2nd bicuspid and molars are mesialized (Fig.6 arrow).
