Bond Apatite and Collagen Plug

A 24-year-old woman with poor oral hygiene presents to clinic requesting extraction of the tooth #17 (Fig.1).  The tooth is removed after multiple sectioning.  One half of collagen plug is placed in the bottom of the socket (Fig.2 C, while 1 cc of Bond Apatite in the coronal portion of the socket (A).  The other half of the collagen plug is placed on the top of the cement before suturing with 4/0 PGA.  The patient feels pain when the tooth is wiggled heavily.  But the Inferior Alveolar Canal is not exposed when the tooth is out.  Return to Plug Cement Xin Wei, DDS, PhD, MS 1st edition 07/14/2020, last revision 07/14/2020
