When the tooth is extracted, an osteotomy is initiated slightly mesially in the palatal wall of the socket (Fig.3 O).  The coronal portion of the labial plate is thin or non-existent with the collapsing labial gingiva (arrowheads; with laceration).  Socket Shield should have been adopted.
