A 45-year-old lady has history of chronic periodontitis.  The tooth #6 has lost several years (Fig.1 CBCT sagittal (thick 13 mm) section).  The width of thin osteotome should not be greater than 5.5 mm.  Note proximal bone loss of the neighboring teeth, which may affect the mesiodistal dimension of bone expansion.
