Fig.4 (intraop occlusal view): The tooth #12 is just extracted.  Granulation tissue is carefully removed from the distolingual wall, followed by copious irrigation with normal saline.  The socket is then soaked with Clindamycin suspension.

Note the oval shape of the socket.  Probing reveals that the buccal plate is missing.  Therefore the immediate implant will be placed in the palatal socket.
