No Interference of Immediate Provisional with or without Partial

A 60-year-old man requests implant at #15, since the tooth with distal subgingival caries has kept fracturing in the last 4 years (Fig.1,2).   Metronidazole will be used for socket disinfection.  Since the socket is most likely large and single (fused roots), a large IBS implant (Fig.3,4: 6 or 6.5x9 or 11 mm) is to be placed following initial 7 mm depth of drilling or bone expansion (Fig.4).  Prepare bone graft for sinus lift and gap closure.  His bone is soft at #10; underprep is necessary at #15.  An abutment is expected to be 6x4(3) mm (Fig.4).  Since he is partially edentulous, an immediate provisional should be large enough to close the socket, but small enough not to be interfered with the partial denture on and off.  Take photos of  #10 to show no metal show.
