Underprep

A 79-year-old woman with osteoporosis has a lower RPD, which becomes loose when #29 was extracted a few months earlier.  The tooth #22 has mobility II (Fig.2 (increased pdl)), while the tooth #27 is short with periapical radiolucency (Fig.1,3 ^).  The latter needs RCT and crown.  For #29 implant placement, osteotomy should be underprep: 2 mm drill for 12 mm for 10 mm long implant (2 mm gingiva), 2.7 mm for 8 mm (Fig.3,4 (low bone density)).
