For the single implant option, the site of #26 is chosen for a future 3-unit FPD in case of the tooth #24 fails (Fig.3 coronal section (B: buccal)). Since bone density at the cancellous region is 200-400 units, a longer implant (Fig.4) is more appropriate than the 12 mm one (Fig.3). The longer one has yet to reach the apical cortex (*).
