The lingual (Fig.2 L) gingiva appears to have more extensive inflammation.  In fact the margin is much lower than the buccal one.  That is, the lingual crest is much lower.  An implant should be placed 2 mm subgingival lingually.  Fig.11: lingual view of the extracted fused teeth.
