Narrow Ridge
A 55-year-old man wants to change the lower RPD to implants gradually (Fig.1). The first step is to have fixed restoration at #21 and 24/25 (1 implant with cantilever FPD (treatment planning before taking CT)). Since the ridge in the incisor region is quite narrow and long, it appears necessary to place 2 of the smallest 1-piece implants (2x10 or 12 mm, Fig.2,3 (coronal sections)). Use surgical handpiece to flatten the ridge top (Fig.4-5) and start osteotomy with 1.2 mm drill for 10 mm while using two digits to hold the ridge (Fig.6 red circles). Take PA. Bone graft if there is perforation. Prepare PRF membrane. Also prepare IS mini implant kit. It is said that the shank of the drill from this kit fits acrylic stent.
