Prevent Molar Buccal Plate Collapse

The tooth #30 of a 47-year-old woman has lower buccal crest (Fig.1-3 ^).  To prevent post-extraction buccal plate collapse, closed socket shield (Fig.6,8-10 *) will be conducted in the mesial (Fig.1,4-6) and distal (Fig.2,7-10) roots.  To decrease vibration, the buccal edge of the roots will be trimmed first (Fig.5,6 a) before root section (Fig.6 b).
