Dense Bone or Residual Root

There is a piece of radiopaque material in the mesial aspect at the site of #18 (Fig.3,4 arrow).  After osteotomy and before implant placement, remove the guide to check whether it is dense bone or residual root.  Prepare root tip picks.  Encourage good oral hygiene (water pik) and postop antibiotic, since he is a diabetic.
