Bone Graft or Expansion Post Guided Surgery
Guided surgery will be scheduled 6 months post socket preservation at #31 (Fig.1). The bone density is low buccal to the recipient site (Fig.2). Either bone expansion should be done prior to implant placement or bone graft is needed post placement (Fig.3). Use Implant Cassette and #15 may be utilized to check whether bone graft is needed. Before soak the guide, check it against the lower model to see whether acrylic clearance is necessary for bone expansion. After 2.2x7.3 mm drill, use 2.2x8.5 and 2.2x10 mm ones (Fig.5). Switch to #2 bone expander (1.3/2.3 mm) and take PA to confirm the depth. Measure the length of the last drill and #2 expander beforehand. Continue bone expanders until #5 (3.0/4.4 mm). Expect less depth as the # of expanders increases.
