Socket Preservation Without Sticky Bone

The 62-year-old man has had severe pain immediately post #30 and 31 implant placement for nearly 10 months.  The implant at #31 was removed approximately a month earlier.  The pain seems to transfer to the buccal of #30 (Fig.1).  Bone loss persists around the implant at #30 (Fig.2,3 (3-D cross section, distal view)).  To reduce postop pain, the implant will be removed flapless.  Osteotomy site will be curetted  thoroughly, especially mesially and treated with Metronidazole.  Allograft will be mixed with PRF liquid, but do not form sticky one.  The graft will be covered by 1 or 2 pieces of PRF membrane and possibly collagen plug.  In fact the pain at #30 gradually reduces.  Abutments are placed at #29 and 30 for splinted temporary crowns.
