Grafted Bone is Soft in 4.5 Months
Following shorter drill sequence at #15, sinus round drills (18 and 19 mm long) are used to perforate the sinus floor without membrane tear. With autogenous bone for sinus lift (Fig.1 S), a 5x7.3 mm implant is placed with high torque in spite of using 5 mm cortical drill with 3 O-rings. Clinically there appears no hard tissue distal, although the bone density (graft bone in the 3rd molar socket) is low shown in bitewing (Fig.2 ^). Allograft is applied around the distal coronal portion of the implant before placement of Osteogen Plug and 4-0 PGA suture (Fig.3 *). Profile drill is required during uncover. With sensor I, there is less distortion and angulation (Fig.4, as compared to Fig.1 (sensor II)). A 5.5 mm profile drill is used prior to healing abutment placement.
