To obtain primary stability, the osteotomy at #12 needs to be longer than the parallel pin, while that at #13 needs two-pointed fixation (Fig.3 * (red dashed line: the root of the canine)). After adjustment of trajectory at #12 (away from #11 root) and increase in diameter of the osteotomy at #13 (3x10 mm drill in Fig.4), a 3.8x15 and 3.8x10 mm implants are placed (Fig.5). The dummy implant (3.8x15 mm) is intentionally not completely seated with an apical space (pink dashed line in Fig.4).
