From Root Fracture to Crown Dislodgement to Residual Roots
A 59-year-old man had large caries at the tooth #15 in 2009 (Fig.1). There is sign of root fracture in 2014 post RCT (Fig.2, unilateral mastication: #31 missing). Now the affected tooth turns into residual roots with #16 mesial shift (reduced mesiodistal dimension at the edentulous area). A long, relatively narrow implant is to be prepared (Fig.1,2). Take PA preop to confirm that radiolucency is reduced after tooth fracture and residual root coronal displacement.
