Long Implant and 5 mm Cuff of Abutment A 59-year-old man will return for #15 implant placement after the one at #13 (Fig.1). The bone allows an implant as long as 15-18 mm (Fig.1,2 red line). His gingiva is as thick as 5 mm, requiring an abutment with 5 mm cuff (Fig.2 pink line). The bone at #15 does not look dense or the ridge is narrow. Use #15 and DIO bone expansion kit for osteotomy. The less density of bone, the longer the implant. If a 4 mm abutment is long, adjust the opposing supraerupted tooth. Return to
